Lectures:

Basics of Breastfeeding:
This class explores the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, the disadvantages of formula feeding, position and feeding patterns, and managing common challenges most new mothers face.

Basics in the Pregnancy and Childbirth:
This class helps women understand the meaning of a healthy pregnancy. In class we will talk about the natural development of a growing fetus, the stages of labor transition and the delivery. Pain relief and delivery options are also discussed with expecting mothers.

Breast Health (Diseases & Causes)
This class offers important information on breast cancer, differences between benign (non-cancerous) tumors and malignant (cancerous) tumors, the importance of early detection and treatment options. The class focuses on prevention through monthly breast self-examination, awareness, diet and lifestyle.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

FIRST AID
Al Bidayah Center is certified by The Saudi Heart Association (equivalent to American Heart Association) to teach and issue certificates to participants of these essential courses. These classes offer instruction on taking charge in emergencies and provided simple techniques to help save lives.

BREASTFEEDING MANAGEMENT & PROMOTION
An in depth look at how breastfeeding works. These courses create an understanding of how to share information about breastfeeding with other mothers properly. In addition, the participants are required to visit maternity wards to practice helping new mothers breastfeed.

1. Peer Counseling Program (PCP). This program was developed by the La Leche International, for which they issue certificates and membership for participants.

2. Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI). This is a forty-hour course developed by UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO) to train health care workers on how to counsel breastfeeding mothers.


Services:


BREASTFEEDING COUNSELING


Here we offer one-on-one sessions. These are scheduled by appointment with a breastfeeding counselor (IBCLC) to help new mothers with the challenges of breastfeeding. We also provide sale or rent of equipment to help sustain breastfeeding.
